Eligibility Criteria (standardized tests to be taken)

You must have a Secondary Education Diploma, School Leaving Certificate, or equivalent certification to undertake a bachelor's program in Lithuania. Part-Time work opportunities & Hourly wage rates

Visa types (student)

While studying in Lithuania, European students are exempt from visa restrictions. If you are not a European citizen, you must get a Lithuanian student visa (known as Visa D) as well as a temporary residency permit. The processing period for a visa is about two weeks, although you should apply for the Visa D as soon as feasible. The cost of a Lithuanian student visa D is 80 EUR, while the cost of a residence permit is roughly 28 EUR. The "Temporary Residence Permission" is a document that allows students to temporarily remain in the Republic of Lithuania for the duration of the permit.

Post Student visa: Full Time Work Visa

A student who wishes to remain in Lithuania after completing his Bachelor's/Master's/PhD studies may apply for a temporary residency visa for the purpose of job hunting. This visa will allow the student to stay in Lithuania for a year after graduation and begin working as soon as he or she finds a job.

Post-study work permits (duration, type, what can you do with the help of such visa)

Non-EU Bachelor's candidates with a temporary residence permit for studying may work up to 20 hours per week. They can, however, work full-time (40 hours per week) during their higher education institution's summer vacation period, as part of an internship, or for the first three months following graduation. Non-EU PhD students can work full-time — 40 hours per week – as previously stated. Students from the EU are also permitted to work full-time.

Permanent Residency options

Temporary resident permits (also known as TRP cards) are valid for one, two, or three years, whereas permanent residence permits are valid for five years. To gain permanent residency, you must first remain in Lithuania for five years with a temporary residence visa; after that time, you may apply for permanent status. It is not required; you may renew your temporary residence permit for as many years as you need, 5, 10, 15, or 20 years; but, if you want to get a permanent residence visa, you must be prepared to pass a Lithuanian language and constitution exam. All tests are arranged and overseen by Education Development Center. Foreigners who have lived in Lithuania for 10 years may seek for citizenship in the republic of Lithuania.
